T his means the ICAC wants everything the reporters discussed with Lew, not just the parts that were used. What if the reporters had privately asked Lew if he preferred women with big or small breasts? What business is that of the ICAC? The slang expression "hang tough" means to refuse to do something or change your mind even under pressure. To stand your ground has a similar meaning to "hang tough". It means to protect your rights, refuse to do what others want you to do, or to stand and fight rather than run away. The slang expression "shove it" is a rude way of telling someone to go away or go to hell.
Lew Mon-hung was a close ally (supporter) of Leung Chun-ying during the chief executive election. But he later gave interviews to iSunAffairs and Commercial Radio accusing Leung of lying about his illegal structures and reneging on a promise to make him an executive councillor in return for his support. To renege on a promise means to break a promise. Leung denied the accusations on my TV show but the ICAC started an investigation into the matter. The ICAC has asked the court to order the two media companies to hand over the interview records. I hope the judge would tell the ICAC to shove it. If not, I hope the reporters would protect media freedom by going to jail rather than hand over the interview records.

我對商業電台和陽光時務有以下忠告：撐到底（hang tough）。在這危急（perilous）關頭，兩間傳媒機構都應該企硬（stand their ground）。香港新聞自由的頂上，已見烏雲密佈。廉政公署要求商台和陽光時務交出訪問劉夢熊的所有資料，後者涉嫌貪污正被調查。但兩間傳媒機構都應該力撐到底（hang tough），他們該叫廉署滾開（shove it）。傳媒向廉署提供已刊登或播出的報道文章或訪問，當然可以接受，但廉署要的卻是商台和陽光時務訪問劉的所有筆記、記錄、未經刪剪的聲帶。
那即是說，廉署要的是記者與劉談論的所有內容，不單是被採用的部份。要是記者私下問到劉喜歡大胸或平胸的女人呢？這又與廉署何干？俚語hang tough的意思是不怕壓力，依然拒絕做某事，或改變主意。To stand your ground 跟hang tough的意思相近，解作維護自己權益，拒絕做別人要你做的，或是奮勇戰鬥而非逃之夭夭。俚語shove it是叫人滾蛋或「去死吧」的粗俗說法。
特首選戰期間，劉夢熊是梁振英的親密夥伴（ally）。但他後來接受陽光時務和商台訪問，卻指控梁於非法僭建一事撒謊，又曾承諾讓他當上行政會議成員以換取他的支持，但最終食言（reneging）。To renege on a promise即是違背承諾。梁在我的電視節目上否認指控，但廉署已經就事件展開調查。廉署入稟法院頒令兩間傳媒機構交出訪問錄音。我希望法官會叫廉署滾蛋（shove it）。否則，我希望記者情願坐牢也別交出訪問錄音，以守護新聞自由。mickchug@gmail.com
