Hunger strikes are in vogue now in Hong Kong. More than fifty Tuen Mun residents went on an overnight hunger strike last week to protest against the extension of the landfill in their district. Members of the Anti-C.Y. Alliance also went on a hunger strike after the July 1 protest to force the resignation of Leung Chun-ying. But Tseung Kwan O residents shaved their heads bald instead to protest the landfill extension in their district. Bald heads are also in vogue. Young people shave their heads bald to look cool. Some older people also shave their heads but they do it because they don't want people to know they are becoming bald anyway.

hen something is in vogue, it means it is in fashion or style. Wearing tight short pants is in vogue among young women. Overnight means lasting one night. I want to be in vogue too. I am thinking of shaving my head bald and going on a hunger strike to protest because I am unable to join the Hong Kong Golf Club. It costs too much money and there is a long waiting list. It will not be an overnight hunger strike. I may do it until the club agrees to charge me just $1 to join and lets me jump the waiting list queue. I don't know how to play golf but I like riding in golf carts. I also like to watch rich, old, and bald men using long sticks to hit little white balls into holes. By the way, such a stick is also called a club. I think the rich old men would find it more fun to see who can put their stick deepest into the hole instead of putting their balls into the hole. If they play this new game the government may agree not to take back the Fanling golf course to build public housing.

香港現在很盛行（in vogue）絕食抗議。超過五十個屯門居民上星期進行通宵（overnight）絕食，抗議在其所住地區擴建堆填區。倒梁聯盟的成員也於七一遊行後絕食抗議，迫使梁振英下台。
將軍澳居民則只是剃光頭，抗議該區的堆填區擴建。光頭也很流行（in vogue）。年輕人把頭剃光，要顯得有型有款。有些老人也會剃光頭，但他們只是不想人知道他們已經漸漸禿頭而已。
說某事is in vogue，即是說它很流行或盛行。年輕女士穿緊身短褲也很流行（in vogue）。Overnight即是通宵。我也想變得很潮（in vogue），正在考慮剃光頭和絕食，抗議我未能加入香港高爾夫球會，因為入會費很昂貴，等候名單也很長，這不會是通宵（overnight）絕食。我會絕食至球會同意讓我以一元入會，以及跳過那等候名單的長長人龍。我不懂得打高爾夫球，但我喜歡駕高球車，我也喜歡看那些又老又禿頭的有錢佬用一枝長長的桿，將那小小的白球打入洞。
順帶一提，這支桿也叫作club。我想年老的有錢人會更想看看誰人能把球棍放進洞裏放得最入，多於看人把球打進洞裏。要是他們玩這個新玩意，政府就會同意不收回粉嶺高爾夫球場來建公屋。
