I am really shocked by the swear words that were used during the heated (angry) argument between Longhair Leung Kwok-hung and Lawrence Ma Yan-kwok over patriotism, which means love of country. What shocks me is not that obscenities were used in the Legislative Council. What shocks me is that they didn't use enough profanities. I was surprised that Longhair refrained (stopped himself) from cursing. Ma did all the cursing. He swore angrily at Longhair: "What is wrong with being a patriot? I love my country. I love Australia. I love Hong Kong. I love China. You hate China. You're not even a fxxking Chinese." I was waiting for Longhair to yell (shout) back: "You're a fxxking shoeshiner." But Longhair was very restrained (in control of himself) even though I know he can swear very well.

S wear words, obscenities, profanities, and curses all have a similar meaning. They mean bad language. Maybe Longhair refrained from cursing because his English is lousier than Ma's. I am surprised that Ma chose to swear in English after proclaiming (announcing, stating, declaring) himself to be a Chinese patriot (a person who loves his country). He should have used Putonghua to hurl (throw) profanities at Longhair. Now that we have so many mainlanders in Hong Kong, swearing in Putonghua in the Legislative Council would help them understand better the meaning of free speech. They could then put pressure on members of the National People's Congress to swear at each other too.

But for the mainlanders to fully understand the meaning of free speech, Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying should also curse in Legco. Every time Longhair throws a banana at him, C.Y. should shout back: "You're a fxxking moron (idiot, stupid person)". Now that Ma has proclaimed he loves Australia and China, which side would he be on if Australia and China went to war? That's what Longhair should have asked him. And the mainlanders in Hong Kong should go back and ask the NPC: "How come Ma can be a fxxcking Chinese and a fxxcking Australian at the same time when China does not allow dual nationality?"
