I f you say there is no end in sight, it means you cannot see, or cannot tell, when something will end. There is no end in sight to the Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa. If you stand your ground, it means you refuse to change your position, argument, or what you believe in. The students believe very strongly in genuine democracy and have refused to change their position that the public should be allowed to nominate chief executive candidates. They are standing their ground on this demand. The slang expression "up your game" means to try harder to do something, or improve the way you do something. For example, many people believe Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying, who is very unpopular, needs to up his game if he wants to become a more popular leader.
Athletes always try to up their game so they can be on top of their game. If you are on top of your game, it means you are doing very well. Do you want to see an end to Occupy Central? Society is split on this, which means society is divided on this. Some people want Occupy Central to end right away but others say it should only end when the central government allows true democracy in Hong Kong. The central government is standing its ground. It won't change its decision on what kind of political reforms Hong Kong can have. That is why there is no end in sight to Occupy Central.

現在誰也說不準（anyone's guess）到底佔中會持續多久。它像茫無盡頭（no end in sight），雙方都在堅守立場（standing their ground）。那些支持佔中的人甚至「更上一層樓」（upping their game），在獅子山上懸掛黃色大型直幡，表達他們支持真民主，亦有在金鐘與旺角的人漠視法庭清拆障礙物的禁制令。習語anyone's guess即是難以預料，或誰也不知道。譬如，it's anyone's guess who will be Hong Kong's next chief executive，即是說，誰也難料香港下一任特首是誰。
若你說there is no end in sight，即是說你看不見或無法預期某事何時會結束。非洲各地爆發伊波拉病毒，就是看不見盡頭的（no end in sight）境況。若你stand your ground，即是說你拒絕改變你的立場、論點或你所相信的。學生堅信真民主，拒絕改變公眾可以提名特首候選人這個立場。他們在這個訴求上堅持己見（standing their ground）。俚語up your game解作加倍努力或改善你做事的方法。例如，許多人相信，現在非常不受歡迎的特首梁振英，若想成為更受歡迎的領袖，還須加倍努力（up his game）。
