L i Wei-ling said she was fired because Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying wanted to muzzle media freedom. She said Commercial Radio feared the government would not renew its licence in 2016 if she was allowed to continue criticizing Leung Chun-ying in her show. But Chan Chi-wan said Li Wei-ling's firing had nothing to do with Leung Chun-ying wanting to muzzle the media. He also said the reason Commercial Radio sacked (fired) Li Wei-ling had nothing to do with its licence renewal. It is a case of "he said, she said". Who do you believe?
The word "muzzle" has several meanings. In animals such as dogs and horses, a part of the face, including the mouth and nose, extends out. This part is called the muzzle. The cover that is put over the mouth of a dog to stop it from eating or biting is also called a muzzle. But to muzzle the media means to silence the media, or to stop the media from having free speech. I think it is a joke to say Hong Kong's media has been muzzled. Most newspapers and TV and radio stations used the sacking of Li Wei-ling as their main story. They also used her accusations against Leung Chun-ying as their main story. They gave very little coverage to the denials of Leung Chun-ying and Chan Chi-wan. If that is not media freedom, what is? My personal view is that Li Wei-ling has delusions of grandeur. The expression "delusions of grandeur" is used to describe people who believe they are far more important than they really are.

香港現在有一宗再明顯不過的「公說公有理，婆說婆有理」（he said, she said）事件。商業電台節目主持李慧玲上星期就着自己為何被解僱，說了許多話。她的上司陳志雲，也說了許多話來否認她的指控，但他們都沒有提供任何證據，可以證明自己的說法。這就成了一單"he said, she said"事件。這個俚語是指兩個人，特別是一男一女，各執一詞，就着事情為何發生有很不同的解釋，卻未能提供證據支持自己的說法。
李慧玲說，她被炒是緣於特首梁振英想箝制（muzzle）新聞自由。她說，若讓她繼續在節目中批評梁振英，商台恐怕政府在二○一六年不願跟他們續牌。但陳志雲說，李慧玲被炒，完全不關乎梁振英想傳媒噤聲（muzzle）；他又說，商台開除（sacked）李慧玲，與續牌亦無關。這就是雙方各執一詞（he said, she said）的例子。你又會相信誰呢？
Muzzle這個字有幾個意思，以動物來說，如狗和馬，就指嘴和鼻伸長出來的部位。給狗戴的口罩也叫muzzle，令牠不能吠或進食。但to muzzle the media即是令傳媒封口，或箝制傳媒的言論自由。我認為，說香港的傳媒被封口緘默（muzzled）是個笑話。大部份的報紙、電視和電台都用李慧玲被炒（sacking）來做頭條故事，也用上她對梁振英的指控來做頭條，卻只有很少篇幅談及梁振英和陳志雲的否認。若這也不算新聞自由，那甚麼才是？我個人的意見是，李慧玲不過有着delusions of grandeur，這個習語主要是用來形容某些人，誇大妄想自己是很重要的。
